Hi there,

I'm Rachel, your host for our monthly community sessions. In my mid-40s, I've worn many hats – from being the former CEO of my own business with an incredible senior female team to being a proud Mum of three, daughter of a warrior of a Mum, and sister and sister-in-law to four amazing women. I've travelled extensively, and in recent years this has included several long-term trips with my husband, who is my best friend, and our little ones, whose company I adore.

My husband affectionately introduces me as "The Brave One," and while I may live up to that title at times, I know that true strength comes from drawing on more than just myself.

Our journey has been a tapestry of experiences – the good, the mind-blowing, the challenging, and the very challenging parts. Yet, amidst the adventure, I've found myself missing the presence of my female friends, colleagues, and family. For me that has been the biggest challenge of travelling.

Female connections have always brought me strength and joy. Throughout my life, incredible women have surrounded me, providing a safe space for sharing experiences, feelings, and concerns over coffee or a glass of wine. However, when living abroad with children, our focus often shifts to their well-being, leaving little time and space for fostering our own emotional support networks to enhance our mental health. This gap risks creating a sense of disconnection that may be unfamiliar, except perhaps during the challenges of Covid.

I am a firm believer in intentional friendship and connection-building. That's why this year, I decided to create 'She's The Brave One – the Travel Mum’s Network.' Once a month, I'll host a virtual gathering on Zoom, offering a unique opportunity for us to connect with like-minded individuals and support each other in navigating the beautiful yet sometimes challenging journey of life abroad.

In between, you can join our Facebook Group - She's The Brave One – the Travel Mum’s Network, where you can ask questions and seeks advice, support, or just some understanding from women in similar positions to you. The Group is private so you can post without other non-members seeing your content, and our community rules are stringent to protect our members. We will aim to post and support content aimed at you as the female leader in your travelling family. Please feel free to ask for advice or offer support to other members. You may even be able to make connections where you can grab coffee or that glass of wine somewhere on your travels.

Why a female-only community? I've always been passionate about supporting women, and I wanted to create a space focusing on you – your experiences and needs as a Mum travelling with your family. I am committed to building a safe and inclusive space for women embracing life as 'the brave one,' regardless of whether you're a seasoned traveller or just starting your global journey.

Our webinars are a sanctuary for open-minded, respectful dialogue. In this safe space, participants are encouraged to engage in thought-provoking conversations, ask questions, and share invaluable insights. The diversity within our community is our strength, and with voices from different corners of the world, we create an inclusive platform celebrating and sharing knowledge and experiences of family travel.
